Sa dami ng taong walang permanenteng tirahan dito sa Pilipinas lalo na sa Metro Manila.. mapagtutuunan pa ba ng pansin ang maliit na pusang ito? Sa tingin ko hindi na.
Habang papasok ako kanina sa trabaho ay nakita ko sa gitna ng Ayala MRT na may pamipamilyang natutulog.. ganun na ba talaga kahirap dito sa Pilipinas? Hindi naman siguro!

Kaya lang mas pinili nilang maging ganun ang kalagayan, walang pangarap at kasipagan para paunlarin ang sarili. Nakakalungkot isipin pero mas madaming ganun ang kaisipan sa mga kababayan natin. =(

Maging masipag.. maging malinis.. at higit sa lahat may pagkatakot sa Diyos upang gawin ang tama at tapat. ☺►

Philippines may soon own vast gas-rich area

The Philippines will gain 13 million hectares in additional territory, an area slightly smaller than Luzon, should the United Nations approve next year the government’s claim on a region off the coast of Isabela and Aurora, Environment Secretary Ramon Jesus Paje said on Monday.

Paje said the undersea region, called Benham Rise, could turn the Philippines into a natural gas exporter because of the area’s huge methane deposits.

Studies conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the past five years indicate large deposits of methane in solid form, Paje said after a Senate budget hearing.

The government is only awaiting a formal declaration from the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea (Unclos) that Benham Rise is on the country’s continental shelf and therefore part of its territory, Paje said.

Legal basis

Once the Unclos establishes that Benham Rise is part of the Philippines, “we would have legal basis to enter into exploration agreements with private companies to explore… (the area’s) resources,” said Sen. Franklin Drilon, chair of the chamber’s finance committee.

Drilon said a favorable Unclos declaration would mean “increasing our territory from present 30 million hectares to possibly 43 million” with the inclusion of Benham Rise.

Discussion over Benham Rise generated excitement especially after Paje said that Philippine representatives were just awaiting one more meeting “to answer questions” before a special Unclos committee.

Only claimant

Paje said there was no reason for the Unclos committee not to issue a decision favorable to the country “since we are the only claimant, unlike in the western side (where the Spratly Islands are).”

“We have submitted a claim under (Unclos) sometime in late 2008. We got a reply from the UN lately (asking us) to answer some questions. They intend to pass a resolution sometime in mid-2012 to approve our claim (that it is) part of the Philippine continental shelf,” Paje told reporters after the hearing.

Records showed that the Philippines officially submitted a claim with the UN Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf in New York on April 8, 2009.

Davide submission

Hilario Davide, then Philippine ambassador to the United Nations, filed the country’s partial submission with the commission.

The United Nations says the continental shelf is “the seabed and subsoil of the submarine areas that extend beyond its territorial sea” up to 370 km (200 nautical miles) from the archipelagic baseline. An extended continental shelf goes farther than 370 km.

The Philippines claims that Benham Rise is an extension of its continental shelf.

Paje said Benham Rise was within the country’s 370-km exclusive economic zone.

American geologist

The environment secretary said an American geologist surnamed Benham discovered the area that was between 40 and 2,000 meters below the waterline in 1933.

“But we are able to define categorically that it is attached to our continental shelf only recently. We have proven (to) Unclos that it is attached. So now the UN is considering it for decision sometime in 2012,” Paje said.

He said gas deposits in the area would enable the country to achieve energy sufficiency.

“Benham Rise is very relevant because of its gas deposits (which has been) confirmed particularly by (the) National Mapping Resource Information Agency. It has given us the data that (the area) contains solid methane. We have not explored it but we have found nodules of methane in the surface and this is very important to us,” he said.

Kalayaan, Scarborough

The Kalayaan Island Group, which is part of the disputed Spratly Islands and Scarborough Shoal, both located in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) and claimed by the Philippines, are also believed to contain oil and natural gas.

Paje said there was the possibility that the country could export gas in the future.

The secretary added that there would be a demand for gas deposits in Benham Rise “because it’s much cleaner than (other) fossil fuels.”

The DENR formally submitted its proposed P16.99-billion budget for 2012 to the Senate finance committee.

Flu Months in the Philippines

Tinamaan ng trangkaso o flu ang aking kasama sa trabaho... tapos ang isang kaibigan ko sa Facebook (masakit din yung lalamunan niya, may lagnat at inuubo).. sunod yung isang kaibigan ko sa simbahan.. at dahil nasa dormitory siya nakatira, nahawaan nya na rin yung ibang nakatira doon. =(

Simula ng buwan ng June hanggang September ay ang tinatawag na flu months dito sa Pilipinas. Sa buwan na ito ay tumataas ang bilang ng mga nagkakasakit. Ang mga dahilan nito ay ang pagdating ng tag-ulan, mga bagyo, at pabago bagong panahon na nagiging sanhi para humina ang resistensiya ng karamihan... kaya tuloy madaling dapuan ng sakit.

Ang nagiging cycle nito ay:
1. Sasakit ang lalamunan (mamumula at mahirap makalunok), yan ay sintomas na may virus o bacteria na nakapasok sa katawan mo.
2. Sisipunun.
3. Magkakaroon ng lagnat o pagtaas ng temperatura ng katawan.
4. Magkakaroon ng ubo.
5. Mabigat pakiramdam ng katawan at masakit mga kasukasuan.
6. Pagkalipas uminom ng gamot at pahinga ay unti unting magiging maayos ang pakiramdam.
7. Hanggang sa tuluyang gumaling at bumalik sa normal.

Hindi mo ito pwedeng madaliing gumaling.. kailangan talaga ng oras at pahinga. Paano ko nalaman? kasi katatapos lang mangyari sa akin.. ☺►

Word Of The Lourd: Bad Words

Ngayon ko lang napanood itong Word of the Lourd... ibinigay sa akin ang link ng aking kasama sa trabaho.

Madami kang matutunan, lalo na tungkol sa pagiging Pilipino mo. Meron ding halong patama sa mga kamalian sa ating lipunan sa malikhaing paraan na magpapatawa sa iyo...

Pero ang mahalaga pa rin ay kung ano ang ginagawa mo ngayon. Kahit gabundok pa na video ang mapanood mo kagaya nito kung wala kang gagawin na aksiyon o kontribusyon para mapaunlad ang sarili.. mananatiling lugmok sa kahirapan ang Pilipinas kong mahal. ☺►

Flooding in Metro Manila

Normal na dito sa Metro Manila ang pagbaha pagkatapos ng 1 o 2 oras na malakas na ulan. Tama at tumpak ang dahilan na nakita ng MMDA base sa kanilang pag-aaral sa sanhi ng pagbaha.

Ang problema ay kung ano ang gagawing aksiyon ng bawat Mayor?? Hmmmmm siyempre alam mo na ang sagot dyan! Tinatanong paba yan? Wala silang gagawin kasi halos 1 taon na lang mahigit at mag-eeleksyon na naman. Saan sila kukuha ng boto kung paaalisin nila ng mga squatters na naninirahan sa tabing ilog o creek. Anak ng tuyo naman tong mga Mayor natin o!

Dagdagan pa ng kawalan ng disiplina sa pagtatapon ng basura... aaaaww yare tayo dyan! At ang realidad pa na overpopulated na talaga ang Metro Manila at walang kontrol ang gobyerno kung ilang libo ang pumapasok araw araw dito.. =(

Aquino wants to know why PCSO owes gov’t hospitals P3B

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna—President Benigno Aquino III wants to know why the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)—which hands out tens of millions of pesos in lottery prizes—still owes state hospitals P3 billion.

Mr. Aquino said the result is that government hospitals refuse PCSO guarantees presented by poor patients.

Speaking to reporters Friday, Mr. Aquino also said he would ask PCSO Chair Margarita Juico to explain the gaming agency’s alleged spending of P500,000 for public relations to burnish its image.

“I will call Chairman Juico and ask her if that is precisely the case,” Mr. Aquino said when asked about the public relations expenses of the present PCSO board.

“That should be part of the investigation also that is ongoing,” he added.

The President, however, said his priority was to bring back the PCSO to “solid financial footing” to fully meet its mandate of providing for the needs of poor Filipinos.

Charity is first

He expressed concern that the unpaid obligations with state hospitals had caused government institutions to refuse PCSO guarantees presented by indigent patients.

“My first priority as far as PCSO is concerned is the arrears, I understand, with government hospitals to the tune of P3 billion. Their guarantees are no longer accepted by these government hospitals,” he said.

“So what is their function? It’s charity sweepstakes. The charity aspect should be first,” Mr. Aquino said.

He said he couldn’t understand how the PCSO arrears could reach multibillion-peso levels.

PR expenses

“I’m sorry. There’s already a bit of frustration here. The PCSO was set up to take care of indigents. It has arrears of P3 billion with the Lung Center, Heart Center, etc. There are many other situations like these,” the President said.

“Considering the PCSO’s huge amounts set aside as cash prize money for lotteries, “how can you get to the point that a government entity rejects guarantees of another government agency?” Mr. Aquino asked.

“Don’t you think that’s more important?” he said.

Former PCSO director Manuel Morato the other day said the current PCSO board spent more than P500,000 over a three-month period last year for public affairs and reputation “management.” He showed reporters a photo copy of a billing invoice from a company called EON Stakeholder Relations Firm.

Juico said she had no knowledge of such a contract. But she admitted that media practitioner Dante Ang, a public relations consultant for the PCSO is paid P25,000 a month.

Ngayon lang naglabasan ang baho ng kabulukan sa PCSO. Isipin mo ba naman na umabot ng 3B ang utang nito sa mga hospitals... Anak ng tinapang galunggong! Eh halos andami dami ng mga tumataya dito at siguradong kumikita ito. Dapat talagang makulong ng habang buhay ang may mga kasong plunder o nangungurakot sa pera ng bayan. Kung pwede lang sanang ibalik ang death penalty gamit ang firing squad.. mas pabor ako doon.

Habang nasa bus ako kanina ay napakinggan ko ang sinabi ni PNoy... "Habang walang nakukulong at napaparusahang magnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan, patuloy na gagawin ng mga ito ang pagnanakaw dahil di naman sila napaparusahan."

Tama lamang na may makulong at maparusahan sa salang pagnanakaw at paggamit ng salapi na di naman sa kanila kundi dapat gastusin para sa serbisyong kailangan ng mga Pilipino.

Wag nating hayaan o pabayaan ang ganitong gawain mula sa simple o maliliit ng bagay. Halimbawa... nag-apply ako ng Seaman's book sa Marina sa may Kalaw, maliban sa kanilang sinisingil na processing fee ng P800 - regular o P1,500 - expedite... sisingilin ka pa nila ng P9 para sa long folder (halos doble ang presyo) at P25 para sa uniform ng pictorial (wala namang resibo). Di ba dapat kasama na ito doon sa processing fee?? Anak naman ng galunggong o!

Tapos sasabihin nilang "voluntary naman kung gusto mong bumili ng folder eh.. o kaya yung uniform ganun din". Eh dapat isinama at libre na yun para sa mga applikante. Pinoy talaga oo.. minsan nasa dugo ng ng iba sa atin kung paano makapanlamang sa kapwa. Para sa akin parang indirect corruption na rin yun.

Pero tandaan natin na kahit anong ginawang mong panlalamang o pagkuha ng hindi sa iyo.. ang pagiging dishonest ay laging may balik sa iyo.. Maaaring hindi ngayon, pero sigurado darating yun!

Corruption in the Philippines

Matindi na talaga yung corruption dito sa Pilipinas.. nasa dugo na yata ng iba nating mga kababayan ang pagiging ganid sa pera at kapangyarihan. Ngayon naibunyag na naman ang corruption sa hanay ng mga pari. Di naman lahat ng paring Katoliko ay corrupt pero ang mga kagaya nitong pari na may kabulukan nakakapagpabaho sa imahe ng matitinong pari.

Iniisip ko tuloy ngayon na mahirap umunlad ang bansang Pilipinas kung ang kalakaran o ang iniisip ay pansariling interes lang at hindi ang kapakanan ng karamihan.

Sa mga ganid sa salapi at posisyon.. mahiya naman kayo sa mukha nyo! correction pala.. wala na nga pala itong mga hiya at makakapal ang mukha. Di na bale mamamatay din naman kayo, ewan ko lang kung makakatakas pa kayo sa parusa ng Diyos sa inyo.
